PROFESSIONAL LEARNING · PLANNED

Teachers should understand the AI concepts students are being asked to investigate.

Splash professional learning is being designed to give educators practical AI literacy, classroom language, assignment patterns, and safety context before they are expected to guide student use.

PROGRAM ROADMAP · NOT YET A LIVE CERTIFICATION COURSE
EDUCATOR PATHWAY

Eight practical modules built around classroom decisions.

MODULE 01

AI foundations

What generative AI does, what a model is, and why outputs are probabilistic rather than authoritative.

MODULE 02

Prompts and context

How instructions, examples, constraints, audience, and context influence generated results.

MODULE 03

Sources and grounding

How retrieved information differs from model-generated language and why provenance matters in classroom work.

MODULE 04

Hallucinations and verification

How to teach students to detect unsupported claims, inspect evidence, and avoid automatic trust.

MODULE 05

Safety and age appropriateness

How classroom guardrails, teacher controls, student behavior, and platform safeguards work together.

MODULE 06

Privacy and responsible use

Data minimization, appropriate student information practices, and clear boundaries for AI-assisted schoolwork.

MODULE 07

Assignment design

How to create activities where AI supports a learning objective without doing all of the student’s thinking.

MODULE 08

Assessment and reflection

How to evaluate source awareness, verification, prompting, error detection, and human judgment.

PILOT ONBOARDING

Before certification, solve the immediate classroom need.

Pilot teachers should receive a shorter implementation-focused orientation that prepares them to run the first assignments safely and interpret the learning evidence.

  • What Splash is—and what it is not
  • How Story Studio assignments are structured
  • How the AI Glass Box should be explained to students
  • How verification and reflection work
  • What safety and privacy expectations apply
  • How to report product, safety, or accessibility issues

SPLASH CERTIFIED AI EDUCATOR™ · FUTURE PROGRAM

A certification should demonstrate competence, not reward clicking through slides.

The future certification concept is approximately three hours of learning plus applied checks. A meaningful credential should require educators to demonstrate that they can evaluate AI output, identify unsupported claims, design a responsible assignment, and explain safe classroom boundaries.

Knowledge checks

Short assessments covering AI fundamentals, sources, hallucinations, safety, privacy, and responsible use.

Applied assignment

Create or critique a classroom activity using the ASK → CREATE → INSPECT → VERIFY → REFLECT model.

Verification exercise

Evaluate an AI-generated project, distinguish creative and factual content, and identify evidence that does—or does not—support a claim.

“Splash Certified AI Educator” is a planned professional-learning program. No certification is currently being issued through this website.
FOR SCHOOLS & DISTRICTS

Professional learning can become part of implementation—not an optional afterthought.

Future school packages can combine product onboarding with role-specific learning for classroom teachers, instructional technology leaders, administrators, and support staff.

THE OUTCOME

Confidence should come from understanding the limits of the tool.

The goal is not to convince educators that AI is always beneficial. It is to give them enough understanding to decide when AI supports the learning objective, when it creates unnecessary risk or distraction, and how to teach students to inspect what it produces.
